INTERVENTION SHEET: TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY PROJECT AIMED AT THE ADJUSTMENT OF THE LAMEZIA TERME SEPARATION PLANT AND THE CONSTRUCTION OF A GREENHOUSE FOR THE SOLAR DRYING OF THE PURIFICATION SLUDGE.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INTERVENTION:
The intervention in question concerns the adaptation works to the purification plant in Lamezia Terme serving the Municipalities of Falerna, Gizzeria, Lamezia Terme, Curinga and part of the Municipality of Filadelfia, for a population to be enslaved of 120,000 PE. This is a biological treatment cycle with activated sludge (pre- enitrification, oxidation and nitrification) with nitrogen and phosphorus abatement, cloth filtration and disinfection. The Mud Line consists of a thickening section, an aerobic digestion, a mechanical dehydration ection and finally a greenhouse for solar drying of the mud.

SOLAR SLUDGE DRYING SYSTEM:
The solar drying system is based on the greenhouse effect, the sludge, once dehydrated and brought to a certain% of dryness, is distributed inside the greenhouse and mixed periodically with a mechanical device in a completely automatic way. The technology has the advantage of having low energy consumption and low management and maintenance costs, in the face of the need for large surfaces.
The system differs from other sludge drying techniques due to its very low environmental impact, also combining the best perception by the population with a natural treatment system with a low visual impact and herefore for the good integration of the work within the urban context.
